Breathe to Focus

It’s Monday morning.

You get out your planner to look at all of the tasks you need to complete by the end of the week.

“I can do this,” you think.

…and then you check your email, responding to your boss’ most recent request. While you’re at it, you Might as well reply to your mom’s email about your upcoming holiday travel plans, right?

Suddenly, a notification from Instagram pops up, and now you’re spiraling into the deep abyss of scrolling for dopamine hits.

Next, you do the laundry because you WFH, after all.

Oops, your time is dwindling, and you need to hurry up and come back into focus so you can at least accomplish something by the end of the day.

Does this feel familiar?

Scattered.

Untethered.

Overwhelmed.

Unfocused.

But what do we do with this? …Just breathe.

There is a reason why we are obsessed with breath work around here.

Conscious + regulated breathing directly affects the levels of a natural chemical messenger in the brain called noradrenaline.

This messenger ultimately enhances our focus and attention levels while improving our brain health.

This means that as we mindfully and rhythmically inhale and exhale, our attention is strengthened and our focus is optimized.
