The Hustle is Worth the Hassle

Yesterday I had the amazing privilege of being doused in the Glory of Creation through the process of hiking up a mountain. It was exhilarating, empowering, amazing, and exhausting. My body has never been so weary from a physical activity, but I am very happy I completed such a painful task. I can’t help but wax poetic about this experience, y’all..#sorrynotsorry It truly was a beautiful reminder of how alive I am and it is impossible for me to shy away from the real-world application of the hike.

As I was working my way up in altitude, breathless and challenged, I realized how much this resembles our lives. While hiking, most of the journey is spent looking down at the ground; you grind it out with your body while trying to stay present and powerful with your mind. This is how our lives are, we are working each day to hustle and improve upon our goals and most of the time, our days feels like grinding, tough work.

Not all mountains are created equal and the same goes for the hikers. We are all journeying on our own paths and there is no room for me to judge how challenging your trek may be. Please be sure you are on the right mountain path, if it is too easy for you, or the journey isn’t working out the way you planned, question your motives for choosing that path in the first place.  You are so much stronger than you think. I truly believe that. We are absolutely capable of ascending a tough climb, and I promise, the view is worth it.

REMEMBER: Sometimes we get lost on our paths and need direction, do not be afraid to ask for help. There is probably someone who has experienced your problem, and his or her advice is exceedingly valuable.
